A former Hg occurrence/mine located 2.3 km (1.4 miles) W of New Almaden, on county owned land (Almaden Quicksilver County Park). Discovered in 1855. Produced during the periods 1850 to 1874 and 1884 to 1893. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in Late Cretaceous serpentinite. The ore body is irregular and dips 40NE at a thickness of 30.48 meters. Local alteration
includes the silica carbonate alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Local geologic structures are not apparent.
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings with a length of 304.8 meters.
