A dimension stone (??) deposit/pit operation located in sec. 6, T10S, R4E, MDM, 0.3 km (0.2 mile; 1,000 feet) N of Gilroy center. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: Location of this deposit and the description of it being a "pit," plus the local rocks being Quaternary alluvium, indicate that the commodity is not dimension stone, but rather, probably sand & gravel/aggregate. The nearby Howson mill is a sand & gravel processing plant.
Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
