A former Hg occurrence/mine located 1.3 km (0.8 mile) W of New Almaden, along Deep Gulch, on county land (Almaden Quicksilver County Park). Discovered prior to 1859. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
The ore body is a blanket formation that strikes NNE and dips W. Controls for ore emplacement included a serpentine-tuff contact in Franciscan rocks. Local alteration includes silica carbonate alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Local geologic structures include local fracturing.
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings with a length of 3,048 meters (the topo map reflects 1 adit symbol at this point).
