A Cr occurrence located in the S½SE¼SE¼ sec. 26, T9S, R2E, MDM, 4.2 km (2.6 miles) NW of Twin Peaks (coordinates of record), and 6.0 km (3.7 miles) WSW of Morgan Hill, S of Chesbro Reservoir (on the divide between the Uvas and Chesbro Reservoirs). Discovered in 1885. Owned by H. Bonetti (1918). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore occurs in a narrow, attenuated mass of serpentine that extends 18 miles along the eastern foothills, from Morgan Hill northward to San Jose. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Production information: Less than 150 long tons of ore were produced.
