A former placer Au mine (dredge) located in sec. 16, T4N, R9E, MDM, 9.1 km (5.6 miles) E of Clements, along (N of) Bear Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. NOTE: This locality extends into Calaveras County (same section). The locality is evident on the topo map by several areas of dredge tailings.
Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
