A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the S½SW¼NE¼ sec. 36, T6N, R2E, SBM, 7.4 km (4.6 miles) WSW of Red Hill (coordinates of record). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in hornblendite. The deposit involves a shear zone and quartz veins. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 shafts, 3 pits and an adit.
