A former dimension stone (marble) quarry located in the W½ sec. 28, T7N, R2W, SBM, 4.1 km (2.6 miles) SE of Stoddard Mountain (coordinates of record) and 4.5 km (2.8 miles) S of Stoddard Well, and about 14 miles ENE of Oro Grande, and about 16 miles S of Barstow. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
