A semiprecious gemstone occurrence/prospect located in sec. 14, T18N, R%2E, SBM, 11.6 km (7.2 miles) E of Quail Spring and 8.5 km (5.3 miles) W of Owl Hole Springs (Owlshead Mountains), on National Park Service land (Death Valley National Park). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is comprised of chalcedony vesicle fillings and geodes in weathered amygdaloidal lava flows. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 16 (Northern Mojave Desert).
Workings include surface openings comprised of a 4 hectare area of shallow, hand-dug pits along flow contacts, excavated by mineral collectors.
