A Au-Ag-Pb occurrence/prospect located in secs. 15 & 16, T10N, R1E4.2 km (2.6 miles) ENE of the Mitchel Range (coordinates of record), E of the Calico Mountains (1.2 miles WNW of Calico). The property is comprised of 6 Au-Ag claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: The geographic coordinates provided in USGS MRDS database file #10023744 place this locality on the boundary of secs. 14 & 15, not 15 & 16 as stated. The coordinates presented in MRDS file #10164277 has a longitudinal value even further E.
Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite. The ore body is 9.14 meters thick. The deposit involves a 6 to 30 foot wide shear zone at a contact. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 400 foot adit with a 100 foot winze (1943). More recent development (1952) consists of 3 shallow shafts, a 2,884 foot adit and 1,500 feet of drifts.
