A former W-Hg-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 19, T30S, R41E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles; 8,000 feet) SW of Atolia. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 35.30939, -117.62699.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in rocks of the Calaveras Formation (slates, quartzites, quartz monzonite). The ore body is 5.18 meters wide. Cinnabar was found in the upper levels. Associated rocks include diabase. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 311.2 meters and comprised of 1 inclined shaft which branches between the 9th & 10th levels.
