A former marble-dolomite quarry located in sec. 11, T6N, R2W, SBM, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) NW of Sidewinder Mountain (coordinates of record), about 12 miles NE of Apple Valley and about 17 miles NE of Victorville. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).
