A former Au-Ag-Cu-Zn-Pb-Mo occurrence/prospect/mine located in sec. 9, T11N, R14E, SBM, about 4.6 km (2.5 miles) SSW of Columbia Mountain (summit), N of Globe Canyon, on Bureau of Land Management administered federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area) (located claim). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. May be the workings in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 8, NW¼ sec. 9, on Mid Hills quadrangle topo map and Wright, L.A., et al (1953).

NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file #10086499 references MRDS file #10164927 as a related file. Examination of that file revealed that it does not pertain to this locality, but rather, to another Star Mine located in sec. 32, T3N, R1E, SBM (a placer Au locality).

Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is comprised of siliceous veins. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings comprised of several short tunnels and shallow adits (the topo map reflects 2 shaft symbols, 1 adit symbol and several prospect pit symbols around this point).
