A former W-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 9, T30S, R40E, MDM, 2.0 km (1.3 miles) WSW of Government Peak (coordinates of record) and 2.1 km (1.3 miles) NNE of Sidney Peak (5 miles SW of Randsburg). Operated in 1914. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. In 1910, this mine was a Au producer. 1914 production was in W ore.
Mineralization is hosted in green amphibolite schist. The ore body is 0.15 meter wide. Stringers occur in a zone ½ mile (0.8 km) in length. There are 2 systems with the minor system striking E. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 2 (Southern and West-central California).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit driven 240 feet along branch fissure 4 inches (10 cm) wide. Several other adits and drifts were driven on other stringers.
Production data are found in: Partridge, John F., Jr. (1941).
