A former Au-Ag-Pb-Cu occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NW¼SW¼ sec. 16, T11N, R14E, SBM, about 7.0 km NNE of Columbia Mountain (summit) (7 miles E of Hayden), on state owned federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Idled since 1926.

NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10077229 presents alternate geographic coordinates of 34.91474, -115.53944 and place this mine in sec. 32, T10N, R14E, at Foshay Pass. There are no mining symbols in this section. Also, MRDS file #10164490 erroneously places this mine in sec. 10. It is in sec. 16 and the error seemingly resulted from an unclear section number on the map.

Mineralization is hosted in limestone. Associated rocks include diorite. Local rocks include Cambrian marine rocks and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 300 foot shaft with some drifting on the 100 and 200 foot levels. 65 feet below the shaft collar a tunnel was driven E 200 feet and connected with the shaft. Drifts off this tunnel were driven N and S for several hundred feet.

A shipment of ore in 1918 contained 10.25% Pb, 0.69% Cu and 37.10 ounces of Ag/ton.
