A former Au-Cu occurrence/mine located 1.6 km (1.0 mile) SSW of Seventeenmile Point (coordinates of record), on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area) (about 5 miles ESE of Baker). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite, gneiss and schist. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include unspecified underground openings (the topo map reflects 1 adit symbol and 1 prospect pit symbol labeled "Paymaster Mine" about 300 meters NW of this point).
