Köppen climate type:
A former W occurrence/mine located in sec. 1, T11N, R14E, SBM, about 3.4 km SW of Columbia Mountain (summit), along the S side of Macedonia Canyon, on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). Operated in 1917. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body is 2.13 meters wide and 182.88 meters long. The deposit is comprised of 3 steep veins. Down to 40 feet the vein contained 1.0% WO3, below that the content ranges from traces to 0.25% WO3. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut on the north vein and an inclined shaft on the south vein at 100 feet deep. Short drifts were driven on opposite sides of the shaft at depths of 36 and 43 feet.
