A former lode Au-Cu occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 3, T6N, R4W, SBM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) NNW of Quartzite Mountain (coordinates of record) (0.4 mile E of Sparkhule Mountain summit), on private land. The property is comprised of 5 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The last period of activity was in 1940.

Mineralization is hosted in andesite. The ore body strikes N35E and dips 90 at a thickness of 30.48 meters. Stringers occur in a 100 foot thick zone. The filling is talc, quartz and altered wall rock. They appear to follow natural joints in the rock. Cross joints are also filled with material and the systems form numerous intersections, that, it was reported, are mineralized for the full width of the formation. The stringers are not more than 6 inches (15 cm) thick. The Au is free to a dpeth of 60 feet. Below this, sulfides were encountered. Local alteration includes the thorough oxidation of the mineralized zone to a depth of 50 to 60 feet. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 90 foot shaft with level workings at 50 and 90 feet plus open cuts and shallow holes.

Poduction data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. (1954). No other production data were found.

Analytical data results: It was reported that the vein carries $60 (period values) Au/ton.
