A former silica deposit/quarry located in sec. 17, T6N, R4W, SBM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) E of Oro Grande. Owned & operated by the Vinnell Mining and Minerals Corporation (100%), California (1990). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Mojave Desert).
