A former limestone deposit/quarry located in sec. 9, T6N, R4W, SBM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) NW of Quartzite Mountain (coordinates of record) and 3.8 km (2.4 miles) NE of Oro Grande, along the N side of Oro Grande Canyon, on Macks Peak (a small (now former ?) hill). Owned & operated by the Riverside Cement Company (100%), Riverside, California (at least during the period 1981-1990). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE: Geographic coordinates presented were adjusted to the center of the quarry area indicated on the topo map.

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).

Workings include surface openings (quarry operation is inferred).
