A former Au occurrence/mine located in the E½SE¼SE¼ sec. 28, T7N, R3W, SBM, 1.3 km (0.8 miles) NW of Turtle Mountain (summit) (coordinates of record) and 4.3 km (2.7 miles) NNE of Bell Mountain (town), along the NE slope of Turtle Mountain (3.7 miles SW of the summit of Stoddard Mountain), facing Turtle Valley, . MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in metavolcanic rock and quartz monzonite. The ore body strikes E and dips 50S. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an incline and several cuts (the topo map reflects a cluster of 3 shaft symbols at the end of a dead end, unimproved road at this point).
