A former Cu-Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 17, T7N, R3E, SBM, in the Rodman Mountain, 9 miles SE of Newberry Springs. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diorite and monzonite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 50SW at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The footwall is diorite and the hanging wall is monzonite. A series of roughly parallel veins occur at 1 to 3 feet thick. 300 feet E of the shaft is another vein that strikes N10E and dips 75W at 3 feet thick. Ore here is 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm) thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 50 foot inclined shaft at an inclination of 50 degree and a 500 foot crosscut tunnel driven N70E.
