A former Cu-Pb-Ag-W-Zn Occurrence/mine located in secs. 31 & 32, T15N, R16E, SBM, 3.3 km (2.0 miles) NE of Drum Peak (coordinates of record), along nthe E canyon wall of Caruthers Canyon, on private (patented) land within a federal reservation (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite and limestone. The ore body strikes NE and dips vertically at a width of 60.96 meters. Local rocks include Cambrian marine rocks.
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 365.76 meters and an overall depth of 60.96 meters and comprised of a crosscut tunnel 700 feet long, shallow shafts at 200 and 60 feet deep, 3 additional shafts at 30 feet deep each, with drifts 48 & 45 feet long plus open cuts.
