A Cu-Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 31, T2N, R25E, SBM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) NNW of Vista Peak (coordinates of record) (7 miles NW of Parker, Arizona), on Bureau of Land Management administered land (located claim). The property is comprised of 5 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Tucker & Sampson (1943) located this mine in T1N, apparently in error.

Corrected coordinates: N34.21614 W114.39970; from Richard Muster. It seems they were not converted to WGS84 during the first data entry.

This property was examined in conjunction with the mineral appraisal of the Whipple Mountains Wilderness Study Area (Bureau of Land Management) in 1980. Backup information can be found in the WFOC mineral property files.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Neoproterozoic limestone. The ore body strikes E,NE and dips 35NW. Ore body No. 1 is irregular in a shear zone. Ore body No. 2 is tabular. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. The secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was faulting and the secondary was fracturing. Wallrock alteration is slight (propylitic, sericitic). There are 2 vein systems, one 4 to 8 feet thick with 2 feet of talc on the limestone hanging wall, and a schist footwall. Local alteration includes oxidation. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include underground openings comprised of several shafts and a 180 foot adit stoped to the surface.

A small amount of Au-Cu ore was produced in 1939. Production of 200 tons of ore with an average grade of 3.82% Cu and $12.12 (period values) Au/ton was reported.
