A Au-Ag-Pb-Cu-Zn occurrence/mine located in secs. 10 & 15, T15N, R14E, SBM, about 4.5 km SSE of Kokoweef Peak (10 miles N of Cima; on the E sloope of the Ivanpah Mountains), on federal reservation land (East Mojave National Scenic Area). Operated during the period 1916 to 1917. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 200 foot deep, 45 degree inclined shaft (1917).
Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).
Production information: 250 tons of ore mined. Smelter recovery averaged 15% Pb, 7.8% Cu, 0.51 ounce Ag and 0.157 ounce Au/ton. Also reported to have produced around 1860.
