A former W occurrence/mine located in sec. 30, T7N, R6W, SBM, NE of El Mirage Lake on the El Mirage Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Area, along the western slope of the Shadow Mountains [2] (4 miles S of Mojave). Owned by Norris Williams, Apple Valley, California. Produced during the period 1940 to 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in marble and granite. The ore body is lenticular at a width of 1.83 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include surface and underground openings. On the Beacon Dome there is a 55 foot shaft with a 20 foot winze below the 55 foot level workings. The Beacon has 23 shallow shafts and 2 pits with a maximum depth of 8 feet.

Production data are found in: Tucker, W. Burling & Reid J. Sampson (1943b).

Production statistics: Year: 1943 (period = < - 1943); WO3 averaged ^0.5%. 1 weight percent recovered. Produced between 500-600 tons of ore (1940-1943).
