A Au-Ag-Cu-Zn-Fe occurrence/prospect located in the NW¼NE¼SE¼ sec. 9, T2N, R24E, SBM, 6.8 km (4.2 miles) E of Savahia Peak (coordinates of record), along the southern slope of the Whipple Mountains, on Bureau of Land Management administered land (located claim). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
This property was examined in conjunction with the mineral appraisal of the Whipple Mountains Wilderness Study Area (Bureau of Land Management) in 1980. Backup information can be found in the WFOC mineral property files.
The ore body strikes N52W and dips 70E. Ore body No. 1 is tabular in a shear zone. Ore body No. 2 is irregular. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. The secondary mode of origin was oxidation. Primary ore control was fracturing. Secondary ore control was faulting. Wallrock alteration is slight (propylitic). Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex.
Workings include unspecified underground openings (the topo map reflects a shaft symbol at this point).
