Mineralization is hosted in limestone and granite. The ore body strikes N and dips 70E at a thickness of 1.22 meters, a width of 3.05 meters and a length of 15.24 meters. A series of Mn lenses occur on the contact between granite and limestone for a distance of 1,000 feet. The contact strikes N-S and dips 70E. The largest lens is 50 feet long and 8 to 10 feet wide. The fracture can be traced for 1 mile and at intervals shows from 8 inches (20 cm) to 4 feet of ore. The ore is mostly psilomelane with some pyrolusite. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
