A former Clay (Bentonite) deposit/mine located 2.3 km (1.4 miles) S of Lead Mountain [2] (coordinates of record) and about 9 km E of Barstow (center), S of Interstate highway 15 and N of the Mojave River. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is hosted in Pliocene lake sediments. Local rocks include Tertiary intrusive rocks (hypabyssal), unit 7 (Northern Mojave Desert).
