A former Hg occurrence/mine located in the NE¼SE¼SE¼ secs. 7 & 8, T15S, R10E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.8 miles; 9,300 feet) N of Llanada, at the W end of the Panoche Valley, on private (patented) land. Discovered in 1935. Produced during the periods 1935 to 1943, 1946 to 1947 and 1951 to 1952. Owned by Rose Garcia (1951). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Panoche Formation (sandstone). Controls for ore emplacement included a silicified thrust fault in Franciscan sediments. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Local structures include local faults.
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 487.68 meters (the topo map reflects 2 adit symbols and 5 prospect pit symbols labeled as this mine at this point). The workings are largely inaccessible.
