A Mn occurrence located in the S½ sec. 29, T14S, R9E MDM, 11.8 km (7.3 miles) NW of Llanada, N of Antelope Creek, on privately leased land. Discovered in 1943. Operated by R. R. Stephenson, California (1950). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. The ore is enclosed in massive white and pale green chert containing Mn oxide stains with cross-cutting quartz veins up to 2 inches (5 cm) thick. Some ore occurs in irregular pockets. The massive chert may contain some bementite or neotocite and has a general strike of N35E, dipping 40NW at the easterly cut. The chert is in contact with greenstone. The ore is chiefly hard, blue-black psilomelane, with some soft, black oxide, hematite stains and some patches of cellular silica. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Analytical data results: Ore grade is 54% Mn, 1.3% Fe and 2.5% silica.
