A former Cr-Fe occurrence/mine located in sec. 20, T18S, R12E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile; 3,000 feet) NE of Picacho Peak (coordinates of record) (located claim). Discovered in 1954. Owned by Herman Akers, California (1976). Operated by Mr. J. R. Holman - James Mining Company, California (1976). First production was in 1954. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

The ore body is 1.2 meters wide and 3.8 meters long with a depth-to-top of 0.0 meters. It is disseminated and lenticular. The primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation. Primary ore control was lithology and the secondary control was a contact zone. Wallrock alteration is intense (carbonitization). Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified surface openings.

The average of chromite is 53%.
