A former Cu occurrence/mine located in the N½N½ sec. 4, T15S, R9E, MDM, 8.7 km (5.4 miles) NW of Llanada, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) NNE of Panoche Pass (gap). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body is 6.1 meters thick. Controls for ore emplacement included joint planes. The mineralized formation appears to be a compact, fine-grained sandstone or sandy slate impregnated with Cu & Fe. It dips SE but the strata are much broken and disturbed. Principal mineralization is in streaks along joint planes that develop into nodules and pockets. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 inclines, one about 400 feet in length and the other about 40 feet down hill is 100 feet long. Both are now caved.
