A Mn occurrence/claim located in NE¼ sec. 26, T6S, R10E, SBM, 1.5 km (1.0 mile) ENE of Blake Hill (coordinates of record), NE of Shavers Well, in the mouth of Box Canyon, 10.4 miles NE of Mecca. Discovered in 1942 and in 1974 the claim was owned by Lelon Noblitt. Located at approximately N33.62331 W115.91196. Remains are at N33.62331 W115.91196; ruins are at N33.63053 W115.91932. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Probably just some prospecting was done, nothing is known about any production.
The Mn occurrences in this area (Noblitt, Box Canyon, Big Bullet, Pinkham and several unnamed prospects) were worked only during WW I and WW II when the Mn-demand was high and the import difficult.
