A former Cr mine located on the center of the boundary between secs. 8 & 9, T23N, R9E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) WSW of Claremont summit, along the South Fork Rock Creek, on National Forest land. Discovered by, and owned by, E.R. Patterson and E.V. Spivey. Year of last production was 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Cr deposit with an irregular-shaped ore body. Local rocks include Ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings consisted of an open cut (1943).
