A former Au-Cu-Ag-Pb mine located in sec. 19, T24N, R11E, MDM, 3.2 km (2.0 miles) SW of Argentine Rock, along Squirrel Creek, on National Forest land. Operated 1928-1942. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Local rocks include Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (Northeastern Sierra Nevada).
Production data are found in: Goodwin, J.G. (1957): 597. Production statistics for 1942 totaled ore reduced to 15,000 tons of Au concentrate from which Cu & Pb were recovered as by-products.
Workings included underground openings. totaling 1,645.92 meters in length and an overall depth of 60.96 meters. They consisted of a 200 foot deep vertical shaft, 4,000 feet of drifts and a 900 foot tunnel plus 300 feet of raises.
