A former Cr mine located in sec. 28 & in the NW¼ (assumed based on spot on topo map) sec. 33, T23N, R9E, MDM, 7.2 km (4.5 miles) SW of Crescent Hill, on National Forest land. Discovered by A. Eddelbuttel, C.W. Goodrich (Last Chance claim, Meadow claim) and Benner and Barrington (Mammoth claim). Operated by Benner and Barrington, Eddelbuttel. Year of last production 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 3 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
Production data: Approximately 30 long tons of ore stockpiled on the Last Chance No. 2 claim (1942).
