A W occurrence located in sec. 11, T23N, R5E, MDM, 2.1 km (6,900 feet) SSW of Merlin, along the North Fork Feather River, near its confluence with Grizzly Creek, on the Feather River highway, near the Butte County line, on National Forest land. Owned by C.B. Goodrich (1942); operated by J. P. Branley, Greenville. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Mineralization is hosted in schist and/or diorite. Country rock is a gray to black hornblende schist which rises steeply. Granodiorite invades the schist in many places and dikes of syenite are common.
Workings include underground openings. An adit 150 feet above the highway runs along the contact of the schist for 13 feet.
