A former Cu-Au-Ag mine located in secs. 11 & 14, T25N, R11E, MDM, 2.9 km (9,600 feet) E of Genesee, along Indian Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings. A tunnel was driven 210 feet and 90 feet below the outcrop on the Keystone claim. Two old shafts, 30 and 80 feet deep and an open cut 40 by 100 feet exist on the Little Joe claim. Two shallow shafts and 240 feet of drifts exist on the Baltimore claim. A 30 foot deep shaft exists on the Gold Fish claim. A 160 foot tunnel was driven on the Mother Lode claim. Overall depth 27.43 meters.
30 tons of sorted ore was produced on the Little Joe claim in 1906. It was said to have carried $300 per ton (period values).
