A former Au-Cu mine located in sec. 13, T25N, R11E, MDM, 6.2 km (3.9 miles) ESE of Genesee, on National Forest land. Also located in sec. 14. MRDS database accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit containing Cu & Au, hosted in andesite and schist. The ore body strikes NW and dips 70SW, at 2.44 meters thick and 1,524 meters long. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Production data are found in: Mac Boyle, E (1918). $50,000 said to have been taken from a shoot worked in early days in the fissure vein. Reported to have an average value of $20 Au per ton and considerable amount of Cu.
Workings include underground openings, including a 60 foot deep shaft and numerous caved tunnels.
Analytical data results: ore zone: 2% Cu, $3.10 Au per ton (period values).
