A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the N½SW¼ sec. 25, T14N, R9E, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) E of New England Mills and 3.8 km (2.3 miles) E of Weimar, along specimen gulch, on the western slope of Big John Hill. Owned by Eddie H. Hinchey (1935). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 45E at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The vein is 3 feet thick. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 15.24 meters and an overall depth of 27.43 meters and comprised of an open cut, shaft and an incline.
