A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the E½ (estimated) sec. 20, T16N, R12E, MDM, 6.4 km (4.0 miles) ESE of Blue Canyon (town), on the upper S slope of Texas Hill (4 miles S of Emigrant Gap), on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 60E. The vein is 3½ feet thick and carries sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 121.92 meters and an overall depth of 33.53 meters and comprised of a shaft and a tunnel (adit ??).
