A former Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 25 & 26 & in the N½ sec. 31 & in the S½ sec. 30, T14N, R11E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.7 miles) SW of Ditch Camp, on the N canyon wall of the Middle Fork American River (S slope of Mosquito Ridge) (5 miles E of the Gorman Ranch), on National Forest land. The property comprises 143 acres. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. Not the same as the Spanish Mine in sec. 7, T12N, R8E, MDM.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes NW and dips 45NE. The vein is in the form of a blanket (mantos). Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
