A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the S½NW¼ (estimated) sec. 24, T16N, R11E, MDM, 2.7 km (1.7 miles) SE of Blue Canyon (town), on private (patented) land within a National Forest area. The property comprises 160 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips 60W at a thickness of 4.57 meters. The vein is 10 feet thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 143.26 meters and an overall depth of 76.2 meters and comprised of tunnels (drifts ??), open cuts, stopes and adits.
