A former placer Au-Ag occurrence/hydraulic mine located in secs. 3, 9 & 10, T14N, R10E, MDM, about 3 km E of Kings Hill and about 3.3 km (2 miles) SSE of Iowa Hill on the eastern ridge of New York Canyon. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. The geographic coordinates presented in this Mindat file were adjusted to correspond exactly with the named mine symbol on the topo map. This location appears on the topo map as the "21 Placer Mine."
Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
