A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½ (estimated0 sec. 10, T15N, R10E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) SSE of Gold Run, along the bottom of Canyon Creek (2½ miles from Dutch Flat Station). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10237200 presents geographic coordinates with the longitude value in error (121+ degrees of longitude versus the correct 120+ degrees), placing this locality in Sutter County. Also, MRDS file #10034896 attributes this locality to the Dutch Flat District. It is squarely in the Gold Run District.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips E at a thickness of 3.66 meters. The vein is 12 feet thick. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 24.38 meters and an overall depth of 12.19 meters and comprised of an open cut and a shaft.
