A former lode Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the S½NE¼ (estimated) sec. 31, T16N, R12E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) NNW of Canada Hill (coordinates of record), about 6 miles NE of Westville, on patented (private) land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: This mine is located a considerable distance from Damascus and the other mines of that district; however, both Clark (1970a) and USGS MRDS database file #10103124 agree that it is in the Damascus District versus the intervening Westville District or the much closer Canada Hill District.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body is 6.1 meters thick. There are 3 veins of which one is 20 feet thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 152.4 meters and comprised of a tunnel (adit ?).
