A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the S½ sec. 30 and in the N½ sec. 31, T15N, R14E, MDM, 6.3 km (3.9 miles) S of Sunflower Hill (coordinates of record) and 7.0 km (4.4 miles) SE of Duncan Peak (coordinates of record), on the N side of the french Meadows Reservoir (Middle Fork American River), on formerly private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This locality is apparently inundated beneath the French Meadows Reservoir.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings.
