A former lode and placer Au occurrence/mine complex located in sec. 7 & in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 8, T14N, R10E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) SSW of Kings Hill (coordinates of record), on the lower S slope of the hill, and about 3 miles SSW of Iowa Hill (4 miles ESE of Colfax). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. This is not the same mine as the Kings Hill Quartz prospect.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body is pinch & swell in form at a thickness of 0.61 meter. The vein is 2 feet thick along a shear zone. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a vertical shaft and 2 inclined shafts.
