A former Cr occurrence/mine located in sec. 19, T15N, R11E, MDM, about 4.2 km N of Hughes Mill, on the divide between Pagge Creek on the S and Forbes Creek on the N, just S of Sugar Pine Road (about 1.1 miles W of the old Sugar Pine guard station), on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

This is one of many Cr deposits/mines placed into a very large area termed the "Forest Hill Divide area" by Rynearson. That area is based on geological and topographic considerations versus mining districts and overlaps several defined districts. Those Cr occurrences within mining districts are listed under their respective districts, the remainder are listed under Rynearson’s "Forest Hill Divide area."

This deposit consists of chromite boulders, fragments and ditritus in the weathered residual soil, up to 15 feet thick in some places. This deposit is located in the northern half of a NNW-trending belt of peridotite exposed over an area approximately 2 miles by 5 miles and is bordered by Paleozoic metamorphics and Tertiary volcanics. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface and underground openings. The surface openings have an overall length of 411.48 meters and are comprised of bulldozer cuts, some shallow open cuts and shafts. A small mill was erected to concentrate detrital chromite from the soil but was unsuccessful since it could not separate limonitic coatings from the chromite.
