A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 30, T14N, R6E, MDM, 6.7 km (4.2 miles) NNE of Sheridan, along the Bear River (Yuba County line) downstream from the Camp Far West Reservoir. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Operators and other data are not known.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit hosted in river gravels. Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits.
